O'ER THE IRISH BAY

I hear the bagpipes call out to me,
Not yet, I need to set my heart free.
There is much to do before I yield,
Tis for the Highlands that I bleed.

My love calls out,in midnight breeze,
A gentle sigh, a moan to cease,
Lips that long for nectar sweet,
Jubilant release when lovers meet.

In this land, will I lay my heart for you,
Through blizzard n sunshine, promise to be true.
This earth is ours- lie with me, sleep...
Return to me,dearest, my heart's keep.

I heard the bagpipes call out today,
Without hesitation I choose to stay,
Luring my true love, who is so far away...
Somewhere over the Irish bay.
