I can't quite play this game
for two,
Designed to complicate me and
you.
I'd much rather speak my
heart,
Spill it all right from the
start...
I know it's hard for you to
trust,
When all that remains is
Love's ash and dust.
Time cannot mend what once
was broken,
But faith can heal with words
unspoken...
I can veil my truth in clouds
of illusion,
But, seeking comfort, I
welcome your intrusion.
Could it be true, that our
fears are mirrors?
Converged yet apart, like
rapids to rivers...
Now that you see us in a
whole new light,
How about I start by setting
things right?
Let me lay bare the truth
within,
And then, you decide if you
want to give in...
What if- instead of demanding
your time
I demanded, you chased after
your fame and your dime?
What if- instead of time
together, i asked,
Just for the truth, in
distance, I demanded you shed your mask?
What if instead of standing
in your way,
I stood by your side,
everyday?
What if all I asked of you,
Is just to love me, and, be
true?
